Question Space, the final frontier...

Hi!

When I use 3D acceleration in space simulation games where there are lots of stars in the background (like Freespace - which is one of the best games I've ever played - and Star Trek Starfleet Command), the stars tend to either disappear completely, or to become fuzzy (and very, very small).

These games all use Direct 3D, and I've played with all the options in the control panel regarding D3D. No results. The stars are still not appearing at all, or they're not appearing as clearly as they appear in software mode (There is absolutely no problem, except sometimes very slow gameplay, which is normal, when I use software rendering).

Any ideas about how I could solve the problem? I have the latest version of DirectX installed. The card is a ATI Radeon (no 7200, 7500, 8500 or anything else. Just plain, original Radeon ).

Thanks!
