Another UT question
I have 2 computers finally networked together and have question about running Unreal Tournament over my LAN.
1. How do you enable the LAN game to start with the "humans" on one team, and the "bots" on another?(without having to switch in player setup) 2. I know cheats are bad(but fun sometimes), how do you enable "god" mode over the LAN?(I am trying to show someone how to hammer-jump and the "backdoor" tricks in assault, so it would be nice to enable the god mode.) 3. I also noticed that while trying to rocket-launch(in Mazon Fortress), I could not rocket-launch my teammate. I know over the internet you are able to rocket-launch. Any ideas why? I think that is it for now.

To rocketlaunch someone, you have to have team damage turned off. This is commonly played in CTF, but in DM team damage is usually on
.You can enable 'god mode', summon creatures/bots, and all that other stuff from the console in the game. Just set an admin password when you start the server, and do... >adminlogin (password) >(execute your commands) >adminlogout A list of console commands is here... http://unreal.epicgames.com/UTConsole.htm Note that many server changes made in the console require you to restart the map for the changes to take effect. To change/restart a map from the console... >admin servertravel DM-Deck16 ..for instance Last edited by Xayd; 03-13-2002 at 06:50 PM. |

The only option for the team damage is "friendly fire" in Mutliplayer game/settings tab. It is set on zero.
I totally understand what you are saying, but when I shoot my teammate with a rocket, he does not move, nor does he get damaged. Even while using the hammer, if I "hit" my teammate with the hammer he will not budge. I am totally losing it!

There's collision detection, you have to get him at the right angle.
Shoot five rockets at his feet from behind him and you should launch him a good 300 yards. Hammer is much more tricky, the area of damage from the hammer is literally just about as small as the default crosshair. |

Yes, i have rocket launched and hammer launched someone allready online, but for some reason my LAN game does not adhear to the same rules.
Friendly Fire is set to 0% I shoot rocket at my teammate, he does not move/launch, stays at 100 health. Friendly Fire is set to 10% I shoot rocket at my teammate, he DOES launch, health decreases 10% Now it seems that i got the rocket launch to work, but with the downside of my teammate loosing health. There has got to be a configuration issue that is not set, right? Where is the option for "team damage"? |

Team damage = friendly fire.
What you might have is some sort of mod running that eliminates this. There are mods run on various servers out there that eliminate the effect of certain weapons (primary shock, rockets, redeemer) on other teammates to eliminate 'cheese'. Check your mod list when you start the multiplayer game, see if anything like that is in there. |
