ATI AIW 7500 Capture/PB Inconsistent

Hi All
I have the All In Wonder 64MB 7500. My problem is with capture/playback. I have used all the record options (record until, manual, etc.) and record formats (DVD, Better, VCD, etc.). The playback is inconsistent. Some time the video is perfect, and at times it has halo, and bright noise (audio is always perfect). Since I’m not a video expert, I don’t know the tech terms. I have tried shutting down and rebooting between test, but no consistent results. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
I’ve downloaded directX 8.1 and an additional recommended update (forgotten the name).
My system:
Sony rx370, 128 GB RAM, 1.3ghz, 140MB HDD
Thanks

I can't see how you have only a 140 MB harddrive Windows 98 will take up at least 500 mb. But that aside a 7200 RPM Hard drive and another 256mb of ram should help you aquire the desired result.

I've got too many bytes running around in my head. It's 140GGGGG bytes, not MB.
I solved the problem by exiting the program prior to switching to the next function. Record, exit program, launch program, playback. That worked every time.
Thanks
