Cheap Graphics?

I know you guys are all into hard-core graphics, but I have a question for you. I am builing my own PC and I want it to have some graphics capabilities, but I want to spend as little as possible as I am already forking out big bucks for a sound card. Any advice?

Newegg

I bought a ATI XPERT 2000 PRO 32MB 4X AGP Model#: 2000PRO-128 from Newegg for$39 including shipping, and have been very happy with it.

I'm still using an original Radeon 32mb DDR card. It runs my games, currently playing NOLF and American McGee's Alice with no trouble and all settings maxed ( and I'm expecting it to do a good job with Morrowind come next month ), plays DVDs and generally makes itself useful. Oh, yes. I also watch the BBC's streaming World News web telecast with a very good picture. I think the price is somewhere around the $50.00 mark now.
Given the new Radeons you might even get one of the old 64mb DDRs for close to the same price.
All the usual on-line stores are good bets or, if you're feeling adventuresome, you could check out e-bay. HTH

I agree with the opinions on ATI; great graphics, great 2d. But, if you want something that is inexepensive with a bit more overall muscle geared at gaming, etc, and very good overclocking abilities check out the Visiontek Xtasy 5632 GEFORCE2 GTS-V....it's only $53 incl. shippng at newegg (read the reviews and see if it might suit your purposes).
