Hi landofcake,

What is your system specs? I could be your comp not going fast enough for the card. Other than that, I don't know... maybe update drivers/directx.

The rest of the computer and the power supply count too. What are your specs?

Question

Those are pretty good. You don't have one of those 5400rpm hard drives, do you? And you've got DMA enabled for both HDD, CD-ROM. Right?

Hmm....i think my drives are 5400 rpm. And i dont know about DMA how do i check it? why does that matter anyway? I tried doing a 3dmark2001 but it didnt work, giving the error message: Failed to decode DDS image: "Not a valid DDS file". Any ideas? + im running moh on 1024x768 on almost the lowest detail, and still im hardly every getting a smooth fps. Please help, this is driving me nuts!

Sorry for the delay.
DMA is direct memory address and it can have an effect on your system if it's not enabled (like making it run slowly) or if there's a conflict. Since you're going to be checking IRQs you can check for that at the same time.
You click on System in the Control Panel and then click on device manager one window will give you IRQs and another, check to top of the screen, will switch you to DMAs.
You don't want to see any sharing and you need to know what's listed.

I skipped a step.
When you get to device manager click on properties at the bottom of the window. That'll get you to where you need to go. HTH

Have you tried shutting down all the other programs in the background like ICQ/AIM, .mp3 players, disk utilities and others that may be using resources?

I have a few friends who have MOH with 'puters in the AMD 1.7ghz and 64mb GF3 video range with similar complaints. It could simply be that MOH has such steep hardware requirements it will never run like your other games.

Another thought... have you been the the company website for MOH to see if there are patches or tips to improve performance?

okay, you've gotten all the usual.....

You have enough power to run your games without glitches.
If you've got no conflicts, either IRQ or DMA, we get down.
So, you deleted the old video card drivers before you installed the new ones, right?
You got all the sound card stuff and multimedia stuff up to date?
You''ve checked that anti-aliasing isn't engaged, and that the accelerator is set at max for 4x? The turbo is enabled for your video card. In short you've done everything you should?
Finally, this card has been checked in a system that works?
Is this card working as it should?
Like, should it be RMAed?
