New GFX Card??

Now that my Geforce 2 MX400 card is starting to struggle, i think it's about time i invested in a new graphics card.
The problem is what to go for, I have recently been thinking about switching over and trying a card with a radeon chipset.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Zydar2000,

I would highly recommend the ATI Radeon 7500 or 8500 (depending on budget), you should notice a nice improvement over the MX.

Hi there Zydar.
If you prefer to stick with nVidia, stay away from the new GF4 MXs. They just don't cut it in games.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice,
I'm still thinking about moving over to a Radeon based card, but i've just read somewhere that ATI drivers have a reputation of being slightly unstable.
Can anyone shed any light on this subject.

Thanks

Hi Zydar2000,

That used to be true back when Windows 2000 was enw and ATI didn't have good drivers yet. I have been using two Radeon cards in Windows 98, 2K, and XP and I havn't noticed any driver issues. ATI is releasing them more often now as well so I would say it's really not an issue anymore.
