which game's best?

hey, i just got a load of bestbuy gift cards from some friends and was wondering if you guys could help me decide which of the following are the best games. i'm interested in a variety of different genres, so feel free to add suggestions about games i didn't list as well. so here are the ones i've seen so far:

Action:
Mechwarrior 4
Command and Conquer: Renegade
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

Strategy:
Empire Earth
The Sims
Command and Conquer
Stronghold
Mech Commander 2
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds

Simulation:
i like these a lot too, but i've got Flight Simulator 2000 and i think i'll wait for 2k3

i guess that's it for now. i know Neverwinter Nights is coming out this summer, and that's the big RPG i'm waiting for. i've got Baldur's Gate 2 for now. thanks in advance for all your help...

Whats up man?

Out of your lists I'd choose Medal of Honor & Empire Earth. Although the games I recommend are as follows.

Action - Giants Citizen Kabuto

This game is kind of old (december 2000) so it should be like $20. I think its the best action game available right now. Give it a shot.

Strategy - Civilization 3

An excellent strategy game.

RPG - Grandia 2

You said you were into different genres. This is more of a console style RPG. Worth your time.

jca08-
I've been playing an older strategy game and enjoying the heck out of it -Sacrifice-

Just a little bit more patience and next month should give us two AAA titles for RPGs:
DUNGEON SIEGE! and Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
Can't wait!

I recommend Medal of Honor and Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.

Take a look at Rune. This game is base on the Unreal engine, but instead of a shooter game its a malae game where you use swords axes and hammers to destroy your enemy. It is an older game (Christmas of 2001) so you can pick up both versions for 20.00 U.S. They come together in Rune Gold. The online community for this game is great too. I have made many good friends throught this game. Check out the links below. First is official game sight, 2nd is the clan I belong to. Later DB

Serious Sam (both First and Second Encounter) are really good FPS .. they have alot of new graphic effects and thus require a good graphics card.

Anyway you should play the First Encounter first. . cuz the intro of the second encounter shows you how to finish the first encounter

Rune is pretty cool. The single player aspect of the game is really well done I think (even if the movie sequences kinda suck ).

Just when you think you've almost beaten it, you realize you're ony halfway done with the damn thing :\.

Command & Conquer series are fine games.

Tough it's kinda old, Deus Ex is one of the best games ever: it combines RPG and action elements. Its storyline is very immersive.
