graphics problem
Alright, here goes. I am playing soul reaver 2. Great game. Its killing me on the graphics though. I have a Plll 800, VooDoo5.5AGP with 512 RAM, using a 7200 speed HD. I have the game set to the lowest I have ever had to play a game at. 960/720 in 16 bit, no music. If I go lower the game looks like crap. I played around with the Vid card some, but I only know do much, and again if I go to far, it looks like crap.
I checked sys mon and a couple times it was using a swap file. But it also showed over 200MB's free in RAM. why is it using swap file? I remember enough about swap file that the rules you read on most sites are BS. You know, double your RAM etc... But I am thinking about changeing the current settings. If I remember right I will have to keep a log from sys mon and go from there? Any Ideas on how I can get this game to play better would be appreciated. OH- to my knowledge, I have the best drivers out for the card. |

How are the drivers for your sound card (not having updated drivers for sound can sometimes affect video performance)? For virtual memory, try checking Let Windows manage settings (this will allow the swap file to grow dynamically, as necessary).
