Tweaks for gamming?

HEy all.
I'd put this in the Overclocking section, but that's really not what this pertains to

I was just wondering, what are some good tweaks you all know for your system, to make your games run better and faster?

Here's my specs, lemme know what you got:

Athlon 1ghz
256mb pc2100
30gb HD NTFS
Geforce 2 MX 400

anyway, let's just post all our knowledge, from RegEdits to proggies, on this thread. We could all benefit

• Overclock the processor if possible
• Set your RAM to CAS2 or "Turbo" setting
• Make sure hard drive has DMA enabled
• Definately overclock the video card (http://www.tweak3d.net/articles/gfmxoc/)
• Tweak the video card settings (http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/geforce/index.shtml)

Also, when getting ready to start up a game, close all apps running in background except for explorer and systray. Also if you have a software firewall, keep that running as well.
