Hi kobi,

How are you trying to view the .jpg's? Are you double clicking on the file itself or are you opening ACDSee and then going to File> Open> browsing to the file location> selecting the file and clicking on Open or Okay?

Exactly what happens when you try to view a .jpg with ACDSee?

Are you getting any error messages?

Can you view the .jpg's with another application?

Cricket is right.

This is probably a software problem. There are two hunks of code interacting: ACDSee and the jpg files. Since you can't see any jpg file with ACDSee, I would suspect that the problem is with the application. Does your documentation say that jpg is supported? If not, then there is nothing else to do. View the jpg files with a different application.

If it does (as I suspect it does) support jpg, you probably have a problem with ACDSee. The manufacturer's web site says that "for maximum file format support, download QuickTime 5.0, DirectX 8.0 and Ghostscript 7.0 for free from the creator's Web sites. Also, without DirectX and QuickTime the Media Window will not operate. " You should then make sure you have loaded all the packages suggested and are using them correctly.

If so, and you still can't see jpg files, then reinstall the software. If that doesn't work go to the manufacturer's website and see if the problem has been reported by somebody else. If so there is probably a fix some place on the website.

and another thing, are you sure it's not .jpeg? some programs, while they can open .jpg's fine, won't auto open .jpeg's.
