Refresh rate in opengl

Hi
I think that my XP install is running my games at 60 cycles.
Is there a fix for this? I just ran fraps and the frames never went beyond 60, and I have heard that 60 is what opengl defaults to in XP. What can I do?
My refresh is set at 85 at the moment.
Thanks

I don't think this matters but my rig is a: msi6380/xp1700/gf3ti200/512ddr/xphome/creativesb

This is a common problem with Windows XP. Not sure what is available for the NVidia cards as I'm a Radeon junkie. For the Radeons there's a program called Refreshfix. It fixed the refresh problems I had with earlier drivers and brought the refresh in games up to where they belong.

If you don't already have the latest drivers for your card, get them, it may solve the problem.

There is a little program called NVIDIA REFRESH RATE FIX available, I don't remember the URL though... do a search, it should be there.

nvidia refresh rate fix won't work with regular 28.xx detonators. There are modified drvs out there to make them work with the prog, but there's a better way:

get PowerStrip or MultiRes from www.entechtaiwan.com. MultiRes being the free stripped down version of commercial PowerStrip.

i use Multires and just tell it the ref- rate i want and get it to "lock the refresh rates". The manual docs have more info on this.

have fun,

Thanks keifir, the other apps have said they couldn't identify my vtek gf3ti200. Wonder what is going on there....have to try powerstrip, have it around here somewhere.

I have found the utility RivaTuner to be an incredible download. It gives you complete control over your GeForce cards. There is a 60 htz refresh rate fix in there as well as an easy way to overclock your card.

It has recognized all myGeforce cards. (OEM GF2, VTekGF3, MSIGF4)

It is wonderful. Download. Be Happy.

Right on, but I settled on coolbits and nvreftool.
I have riva but never knew it did all that. Next install I will give it a go.
