Your Favourite Game Music

Music can either make or break a game. Bad music can detract from a good game and good music can either improve a bad game or make a great game exceptional.

My own music awards for the last few years would be as follows:

Most beautiful orchestral musical score - Outcast

Best musical score in a FPS - Unreal

Creepiest music (if we discount the superb music composed for the PS version of Ultimate Doom) - Shadowman

One you even whistle in your sleep - Soul Reaver

What's yours?

BTW - for any Outcast fans out there. Did you know the one of the Outcast CDs can be played as an Audio CD? Just pop it in and you can listen to the full musical score plus a real treat at the end.
I won't spoil it by telling what it is - lets just say, it's a kind of funky jam session by one of the characters from the game.

Unreal, definitely.
If you're into rogue spear there is a MP3 going around called, Roger That. It wasn't the official music, but it's good.

Depending on your age, the pacman music would be forever engraved into your subconsciousness. Then there's the sound of him eating.

Everything in Heavy Metal FAKK II.
And in Battlezone, when using the cool light ball weapon, it gets down with techno music!

i can't believe no one mentioned interstate 76! not only did the game rock, but the cutscenes were interesting, and the music was super groovy!

wipeout 3 for PS has an awesome soundtrack, and you can get it for 5$ at best buy
i'd recommend it just to put the songs on your hard drive since they're easily rippable

I had a friend actually buy Parappa. I got intoxicated enough to let him talk me into trying it. After about 5 minutes, I was ready to hurl.

Yeah, I enjoyed Heavy Metal FAKK 11 and the music was good.

However, I did have a few problems with the game and did a search to find some user forums. Unfortunately, the main topic of conversation on many of them was where to get nude skins for the heroine.

I remember thinking "Jeez - give us a break! You all need to get out more."

However, maybe girl-gamers should get their own back by making male nude skins Q3, RTCW, MoHAA, and SOF2 - then we could all have a good laugh.

After all, in sexual equality in games - it's the little things that matter.

Command & Conquer 1 has the best music scores. I like the scores from Duke Nukem 3D very much too.

And Heroes of Might and Magic 2 has the best opera music I've ever heard in a PC game.
