Angry Fire ATI 8500 won't even display during boot up

I installed an ATI 8500 64 MB DDR video card on my new ECS K7S5A motherboard. I got a continuous fast beeping during the POST, and the message "no sync input" on the monitor. The video works fine with my old ATI Rage card (both cards are AGP). The published AMI "beep codes" do not include the continuous beeping that I got. I've updated the BIOS, and I've returned the card for replacement in kind, and no change. There's nothing that I could find that said this video card and motherboard should be incompatible.

Any ideas?

I've been doing searches on Google for ECS K7S5A Radeon and incompatible and have been getting results, but have yet to find some concrete proof, but there may be a compatability issue.

I have read of others getting this card to work with this mobo.

However, the AGP slot seems to be a very tight one and can sometimes need quite a bit of strong but gentle pressure to get the AGP card fully seated. Try reseating the card without screwing it down a few times to make sure it's fully inserted and not coming up at the back.

Also, although the Radeon cards are supposed to have universal connectors that fit AGP 1.0 and AGP 2.0 slots, check the connectors on the card do correspond with sections of the AGP slot.

Also, you should check to see if the card has moved since you screwed it in the case. I have seen cards move a bit from the screw being tightened. I have since learned to press firmly on every card after installing it.
some thoughts
