OK, I had tribes 2 on a computer running win 98, I built another system and its running XP pro. It runs every game fine except tribes 2. Here is what happens.
When tribes 2 starts it attempts to update. Download is fine, when it prepares to install, the game shuts off and windows is asking me to send an error report. Happens every time. The singleplayer game runs fine. I tried to download the updates from sierra individually and installed them but they did not seem to be installed because it still asks for the same updates. Don't know what to do about this?? Any suggestions?? Thanks |

There is only a update for the "updater" program for tribes that actualy comes from sierra. Then the real updates come from any number of game sites. The one I always use is Barrysworld.
I also use XP on a nVidia chipset, and the native XP firewall runs as well. No problems updating here. |
