According to the Abit Newsgroup, Abit BE6 II's made before July are not compatible with Geforce II video cards. Problem seems to concern the progammable power circuit between the mobo and the GF2. Abit can fix it, but you need to send the board back to Abit.

Some info, just in case this problem arises for any of you.

Could they also not be compatible with a GF 256 32mb of ram? It seems my friend had that problem. Where is the newsgroup?

The newsgroup can be found at:

alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit

The abit website (support) section also lists other newsgroups.

I'm sorry, but could you help me on how to get on the newsgroup? I've seen the links on abit and when I click on them Outlook Express opens and says that the server couldn't be found. Please help. Thanks.

Jetblack-- you need to set up a newsgroup account in Outlook Express-- you also need to get the newsgroup address from your ISP (similar to the address you put into OE for incoming and outgoing mail). If your ISP doesn't support newsgroups (some don't, for instance newsgroups are blocked by the ISP at the school I work in to prevent the kids from subscribing to porno newsgroups), I think there are third party programs to access newsgroups-- does anyone else know about these programs?
