Question

I have a Diamond Viper V770 Ultra and am using the latest nVidia AGP drivers (.618).
I noticed that the IRQ 10 has been assigned.
My sound card is a C.L. S.B. Live value. It's also assigned IRQ 10.
Is it normal to have two major cards (one AGP & the other PCI) assigned the same IRQ number?

I am assuming that your sound card is in the slot right below the AGP slot since they usually share an IRQ. If you want to get rid of the share, move the sound card to a different slot. Personally, I have never experienced a problem with it, but others have and recommend that you move it.

Yeah, it could cause problems in gaming if they're sharing. If you get something running that's both video and sound intensive then it could get laggy on you. Always try to avoid using PCI slot one, if at all possible.

Sound cards feel more at home in PCI slot # 3.
