Going by the review in Tom's Hardware from April 9, the Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb is the card for a budget conscious upgrade.
The only problem is I can't find it anywhere. Anyone had any more luck than I have? I can't buy it if I can't find it!

Hi pam123,
The GeForce4 4200 chip was only recently released, so it'll take a bit longer for the actual cards to be made and sold. Most will be available towards the end of May, so you'll have to wait. NewEgg or MWave will probably have one ASAP, but if you need a good card now check out the GeForce3 Ti200, performance is great and close to the GeForce4 cards. Hope that helps. |

Here's one site that are supposedly shipping some out tomorrow:
128MB version - http://store.yahoo.com/buyeee/prolpixgefti.html 64MB version - http://store.yahoo.com/buyeee/prolpixgefti1.html I'm definitely getting this video card but I kind of want to wait for something like a Leadtek or PNY card. Course...I have no idea if brand makes a difference... |

Here's one more note for us folks drooling over the Ti4200.
This is what AthlonXP at the HardOCP forums had to say about this card's availability: Quote:

Here's one more update, specifically on the Gainward version.

Well...it has begun. But expect to pay around $220 or so.
http://www.pricewatch.com/1/37/4739-1.htm VisionTek and Gainward cards are apparently available to purchase (even though some websites may not have the card until mid next week) EDIT: ----------- AthlonXP has another message about Best Buy: Quote:
