Codename Outbreak - nice little FPS
If any of you FPS fans are sitting twiddling your thumbs waiting for the next, great FPS, I suggest giving this game a twirl.
I didn't think I would like it to begin with but it has certainly grown on me. It's a sort of mixture of FPS and Black Ops. You start each level with one team-mate bot who you can choose and configure before each mission. The bot and enemy AI is good enough and you can switch roles your team-mate. The levels, so far are large and interesting alternating between wide open spaces where you rely on strategy, camoflage, and sniping to large indoor complexes where you can get up close and personal. However, this is not RTCW. You must plan your attacks carefully or you will die. It's a sort of cross between Delta Force and a Half-Life mod but it works very well. The whole game has a charming East-European feel about which makes it different. It's retro - but it works. A nice change from going in with all guns blazing and shouting "Kay..Yippee..Ai..Yay... you naughty little men. I'll tell my Mum about you!" |
