I keep getting destroyed in some UT games on the internet-- my framerates are ok and my ping is below 100. However, others seem to be able to turn faster and change weapons faster than I can. I play using the mouse -keyboard combination-- is there a better solution? Anyone have any experince using a gamepad or a joystick for these type of games? (I am fully cognizant that one reason I get destroyed is because I might just be lame

Could be wrong, but UT should let you customize keystrokes, ala Quake and the other ID games.
Hence ID games are the only games I can tolerate, being an old school MUD player. From playing MUDs since I was a kid I can type 50-60 wpm, a mouse slows me down. Program your keystrokes, and practice with em to get quick. Xayd |

Played a little ut, play alot q3, I know you can tweak q3 into jumping farther and other things, without actually "cheating". Go to one of the big UT sites and ask questions. You will find the answer, young grasshopper
