Just wondering if anyone tried Icewind Dale yet. I'm a big fan of that trilogy, read all the books with Wulfgar and Drizzt Do'Urden.

Seems I saw a advertisement for it in a past issue of PC Gamer. Isn't it a Diablo-esque type game? Looked pretty cool but I've never been a real RPG fan. I like real time strategy and first person shooters.

Yup it's like Diablo , I've been playing Diablo 2 since it came out, gosh it's tough in the later stages....

But Icewind Dale looks really kool...

I have played it a little, it's basically Baldur's Gate interface, with the ability to form your whole party. Levels go MUCH higher, exp cap is over 1 million, almost 2 million I think,vs. 130,000 if you have BG + the expansion.

My brother is the one who owns it, he has some probs with it sometimes. But he has problems with BG too that I don't...

Icewind Dale is effectively BGate 1.5.
I like it , but it appears to need more horsepower than the original as I have to disable all the sound on my PII 300 notebook (it plays much better on my proper PC). A note on Exp Cap, on BG1 I used godlike to remove the limit and ran my characters up to about 2,500,000 exp, somebody is bound to do the same to Icewind Dale.
