I just installed the new NVIDIA Detonator 3 driver...wow. Although I did not see the 50% increase claimed ins ome apps, I did get a few more frames in Quake3, and over 100 points in 3D Mark 2000. I highly recommend this free upgrade to owners of NVIDIA cards.

Too bad I can't use it.
 . My ATI TV Wonder TV turner card does not work with any of the NVIDIA drivers or version 2.08.  Why it does not work ? : Because NVIDIA set up the drivers over version 2.08 to deal with the overlay differently. That really sucks.

Well Iam the owner of Nvidia TNT 2 card (Elsa ErazorIII) running on FIC VA 503A and k62 450&504..
On my system ALL drivers including Detonator 3 are slower...than 2.08. 3D Mark99- with 2.08 I get 3550 marks, with detonator3 I get Less than 3000. [This message has been edited by Bruno (edited 08-17-2000).] |

I thought the changes in the new detonator drivers were mostly to improve the performance of the new Geforce II cards- so I would not expect them to improve performance in TNT cards.

Padawan,
I saw an increase very similar to yours. My V7700 went from 5954 to 6131 marks. Q3 runs maybe a little smoother and seems to look better also. Great to get more performance for free once in a while! |
