Angry Fire graphics driver not working, need help

hi, i've been trying to get my Gainward GeForce 2 MX 400, twin view videocard to work. everytime i try to install the drivers it stops and gives me, " This device cannot start (Code 10)", i have only one monitor hooked up to it, and it's in the right port. but it still won't work. i'm running WinXP and i have a Duron 1ghz, Gigabyte AMD 761 board (7DX+). can anyone help? thanks.

p.s. i've tried uninstalling it, then installing it, and forcing the drivers to work. even pointing it to the new ones. no luck.

You need to try a different driver.
Are you using XP updated drivers for this device?
If not locate XP updated drivers for this device this should solve your problem.

CODE 10

If the device has a "FailReasonString" value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator places this registry string value there. If there is no "FailReasonString" in the hardware key, the following generic error message is displayed:
This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have
all the drivers installed. (Code 10)

Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.


Solution button: Update Driver

To resolve this error code, make sure the device is connected to the computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully and that all adapter cards are properly seated. Follow the suggested solution button and update the device driver. It may be possible to remove the device and redetect it using the Add New Hardware wizard.

thanks, i've tried removing it and then putting it back in, and removing the device in device manager and then letting plug and play find it. but i still get the errors. i downloaded the 28.XX drivers from nvidia, and i've downloaded some from Gainward as well. i've tried pointing it to the folder from the gainward but it still doesn't work. i'll keep on trying and keep you guys updated.

See if this helps:

CAUSE
This may occur if you have a display adapter that uses the NVIDIA chip set and the basic input/output system (BIOS) on your computer does not have an interrupt request (IRQ) assigned for the display adapter.



RESOLUTION
Select the option to Assign IRQ to VGA in your motherboard's BIOS. If this setting is not available, you need to contact the manufacturer of the motherboard to determine how to select an interrupt to the video card
