Wierd video prob....

I keep getting a shrunk down screen (i.e., black void on outsides of viewing area) when I launch StarCraft Expansion set, unless I reboot before loading. My drivers for the Vid card are from the legacy stuff for Diamond Multimedia off the SonicBlue site. Monitor drivers current from IIyama for my model. Any ideas what is happening?

I just read about that. Hmm, maybe in the PC Mech CD ebook. It could have something to do with when your computer starts the game and switches to a higher screen resolution. Upon coming back to the normal one, it tends to not resize properly.
Actually, that was from my A+ Certification book by Michael Myers.

I agree, sounds like a resolution/refresh rate switch by the game. Probably your monitor has never been correctly adjusted for whatever resolution/refresh the game is running it at.

Don't know why a reboot would solve that issue though.

Diamond legacy stuff wasn't very good with 3D. Which card do you have? Might be time to get a "modern" card.

GLC, Viper II Z200 AGP 32Mb w/TV out. Although I have a PNY GEForce2 MX400 w 64Mb SDRAM that Is brand new, though I didn't like the vid quality with it. May be I didn't play around with settings enough, huh?
