JK II, newbie question

This is going to sound extremely pathetic, but I've not played many FPS games, so I'm confused. When I start on the first level, I get up and to the left of where you start and kill all the stormtroopers. I get the key from the guy in the room around the corner. I take it I'm supposed to get inside that big door that Jan pops a few shots at and says that the blaster won't work. Where do I go from here? I tell you, I'm so new at this type of game. I decided to venture from the AOE II and Galactic Battlegrounds, and now I'm frustrated. Thanks for the help.

There is a large gun opposite the big door. You need to activate the gun. While facing the door, go to the left and locate the open side door and work your way up to a control room (that overlooks the big gun).

Have fun - there are a few frustrating puzzles, but over all it is an excellent game.

then u sit on the gun and fire at the door haha... then u go inside and i dont remember ... the ending of that game is weird..
