Lightbulb Dual-Monitor Display in XP

Does XP support dual-monitor displays such that you can hook up two separate monitors to two separate video cards and share the desktop with these monitors?

lighir,

Yes, XP Pro does have this feature. I believe the home version does as well.

Here is how you configure it:

1. Shut system down, open case and install new video card in either the PCI or AGP slot.

2. Put case back on and plug the 2nd monitor up.

3. Turn system back on and windows will automatically reconize the new video card and want to install it. As well as the monitor. Follow the wizards.

4. Open your display properties by right-clicking the desktop and selecting properties.

5. Click on the "Settings" tab. Hightlight the monitor icon that you want to use with the original one, and select the Extend my desktop onto this monitor check box. Click ok.

That shoud be it. Let us know if you have any problems.
