The new Radeon drivers....

I downloaded and installed the new Radeon drivers for my card and promptly lost my DVD playback and started getting dll errors. I've reinstalled the old ones and now everything works again and I've no "dll file not found" errors.
ATI's more frequent driver updates are definitly a mixed blessing.

Hi pam123,

Did you uninstall the old drivers and remove the registry entries before installing the new ones?

Yes I did.
This is the only ati update I've ever had a real problem with.

After installing the new drivers, it's recommended to get the new MMC with it.

Thakns Hal,
I missed that recommendation, which probably explains all the trouble.
I'll try again tomorrow.
