Okay, I have Aliens Vs. Predator 2. I load the bad boy up. I go to play and the graphics are all cazy. I can only make out the characters, most of the time with the background and area are distorted and huges blocks. I had this game on my old computer and it worked fine. Only thing different is I'm using Win2K insteed of 98, plus I have a GForce 4 ti4200. What is the deal with that?

Have you installed the newest driver for your graphics card ?
Which DirectX version do you have ? Win2K comes with DirectX 7. The current version is 8.1. AvP2 might need at least DirectX 8. RJ

So, if I have a DirectX 8.x or higher then AvP2 wouldn't work and needs a lower version like 8.0. If so that is lame.

No, I meant that AvP 2 might need *at least* (I edited my original post now) DirectX 8 (I'm not really sure, that's just a thought).
Win2K comes with DirectX 7, so if you haven't installed DirectX 8 or higher then this could be a problem. A newer version of DirectX always includes the previous one. Just wanted to make sure that you don't have a DirectX that is too old for AvP. RJ |

I have only installed the drive my video card came with. I'm pretty sure I have DirectX 8.0 or higher. I have Medal of Honor: Allied Asualt on there and it works great.

start > run, type in "dxdiag" and see for yourself.
But MOHAA apparently needs DirectX 8.0, so it's possible that DirectX is not the problem. Next thing I'd do is to update the graphic card drivers. RJ |
