Final Fantasy on PC....
Well I finally got Final Fantasy VIII to work on a computer, the one I built. I'm really into it, but then I find out FF9 and FF10 are only for Playstation and/or Playstation2. What a disappointment. I hear the FF10 will be the last non-online Final Fantasy. Anyone know if the next ones will be on the PC? T
hey are really top quality games, but I'm not into spending $200 on a substandard computer that I have not myself built.

I've been playing FF games since 3, back in 1994... By far my favorite game series. I haven't tried any of the PC versions, but I have not heard of 9 or X coming out for it. Have you tried 7? I like it much more than 8, although thats not bad either.
My order, best to worst 6(US 3)/7/4/9/8/10/5

I've played (US versions) Final Fantasy (original) FF2, 3, 8. That's about it. I have seen FF7, although I am really more of a fan of FF8. I have it on my PC, it's really got a great story line, and lots of emotion and stuff. Squall is a great character. Only thing that sucks is the animation; way too long on some things. I remember the original; you had to BUY your spells... Certainly has come a long way, but I refuse to buy another gaming console like PS2.
I have to think that the on-line versions would be on PC. But I have heard of some sort of on-line network for one of the consoles, can't remember which. |

Final Fantasy X will not be the last online-only FF. After FFXI (the online one), FFXII will return to the normal single player.
And by the way, if you've ever played Final Fantasy Tactics or Vagrant Story and loved them, you should be excited because the same guy behind those games is heading up FFXII.

I suggest you play FF7 after you complete FF8. It's nice to see that people actually like the game as much as I did. The majority of FF Fans HATE FF8.

I really love FF8, I don't get why people say it sucks. It's got a great story line, great characterization, plus I love the magic / items / battle system. And it's (I know, I know) a rather good love story between Squall and Rinoa. Without some sort of emotional thing like a love story the game is emotionless; rendering it, 1) not replayable, 2) boring the first time, 3) basically worthless. There are games that don't need emotion, like CS, but this sort of game is different. And I love that line where Rinoa says, "Squall, you've missed out on all the good things in life." Great story, great game, too bad more people don't like it.
