This is for my boss so somebody want to help??
This is his dilema with his kid's pc: (My guess is they never updated drivers and don't have DX7 When trying to play the game (Star Wars Pod Racer), all that comes up is a black screen with a blue bar at the bottom, which looks like it is trying to download program to play, then kicks back to the windows display screen. I have a Gateway Essential, Intel Pentium III, 450 Mhz, 64mbRam, Windows 98, system that is close to being a year old. I am contacting Gateway along with you all. I know they'll say that I shouldn't purchase software from anyone but them, but what the hey! The game won't load from the cd into memory to initiate the program. Several things come up when I search for the hardware configuration: The file AT12DRAA.DRV is uncertified by microsoft windows --it says you can get certified driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device. Also noted was sound: SBPCI.VXD is uncertified -- can get certified hardware from microsoft windows hardware quality labs. Do I need to contact them to update the drivers? Is it my cd rom? The software says one should have cd rom quad speed or higher. Please give me some insight. On the display computer analyzing: ATI Rage 128 VR AGP ATI Tech., enhanced Chip Type: Rev DAC Type: Display Mode: 800 x 600 Main driver AT12DRAA.DRV Version 4.11.01.6076 Mini vdd - AT12VXAA.VXD Primary Display when troubleshooting says: 640 x 480 16bpp [Edited by dondrd on 09-14-2000 at 04:37 AM] |

The problem could be an insufficient power supply, or a missing or corrupt file the game needs. This file could be a driver, or anything that it may use.
