I loaded it when I first got it and it was freezing up. So I removed it using add/remove programs to see if that would help. And now when I go to install it I get an error saying "system error can't read from H:" (cd rom) This program has performed an illegal operation.
the details on the error message say something about "page fault, error in module...." (Can't remember the rest at work Now.) What is all of this. A guy at EA said I might have to edit my Registry, is this true. Also I've loaded other games on the same cd rom drive right after trying Madden 2001. And it worked the first time. I did accidently delete the Dirext x7 folder, but restored it from the recycle bin and everything seem to be running fine. It doesn't affect other games. System AMD 450, voodoo 3 3000AGP, 128meg ram,48x CD Rom drive,Direct X 7.0a, Soundblaster 64 AWE Any help please! |

I did a quick look around and found no patches for Madden
2001 but there was a 6.4 mb patch for Madden 2000 so there maybe an issue with the hardware and considering it's just been released there may be some lag on a fix if any. The other games at EA did seem to have issues looking at the various patches and reference to the Vodoo 3 card in paticular. You might try the 3DFXGAMERS board for some info |

sometimes when you delete a folder some items in that folder can't be sent to the recycle bin and are just erased. Open the folders for your cd (not autorun) and look for directx, and try reinstalling it by itselft. Maybe that will work.
