F-16, MiG-29 and GeForce2MX woes
Hi,
Over the last few years I very much enjoyed playing NovaLogic's flight sims, F-16 and MiG-29 which I played when I had a Creative Voodoo Banshee Graphics Card. Now I find that with my Creative GeForce2MX Graphics Card these games can only be played with fuzzy low quality graphics, even at 1024*768. Not good at all. In fact in the game setup it says "NO 3D CARD". An extensive visit to www.novalogic.com provided me with no answers and in fact regarding the GeForce range of cards the site said "THESE GAMES ARE GEFORCE READY". I can assure anyone, they're not! (1) Does anyone know if this problem CAN be resolved with a patch file from somewhere...ANYWHERE?! (2) Does anyone know if NovaLogic (or anyone else) has plans to release any new high quality jet fighter flight sims? I know games like the Sturmovich (?) Soviet second world war fighter are available but I much prefer high speed, jet fighter flight sims. (3) Does anyone know if any flight sims are going to become available of the new Royal Air Force "Typhoon" EuroFighter? THANKS. |

What os are you using? I have had a similar experience with delta farce on xp/gf3. Ran/looked fine under ME/98 but it looks very poor image wise. All pixelly and stuff. Needless to say I do not play the game.

I'm using Windows Me because XP was a total disaster on my machine.

Are you running the game in opengl or d3d? What happened to your voodoo card? Can you try it?
If the game setup says there is no card, you should email the info to nova and see if they have any idea. Perhaps the games are not written for gf types. Regardless of what they say. |

OpenGL or Direct3D? To be honest, I've absolutely no idea.
As for e-mailing NovaLogic, I have done so, several times but not heard a thing. Very poor show by NL! I've got the OpenGL program stored somewhere, would I be advised to install it? |

If you do not have opengl installed already (there will be opengl settings in the video properties) then you might try that. I don't think 98/me installs a opengl driver.
Hmm, just saw you do have a gf card, they always have opengl as part of the driver you install. You did install a driver, right? As I recall, my delta force(novalogic) game is larglely unplayable due to graphics. They are all pixely and crap. This is on xp and a gf3. By the way, nova (no va) means no go in spanish. Fitting. I don't remember my gf2 or tnt2 playing it this poorly. Something to be said for the voodoo and tnt2 days... |

LOL, yes I installed the GeForce driver....pretty crap picture without it :-)
"All pixely and crap"......yep, that about sums up what I'm getting with F-16. I've had a LOT of graphics problems with existing games though funnily enough all my MICROSOFT games still work fine. Don't Microsoft make some ace games? Crimson Skies....oh yes! |
