Weird how enhanced radeon 8500's (rv250)will be labelled radeon 9000 and 9000 pro, they should be like 8700. Then the new one could be radeon 9500, and instead of a later 9500LE, a radeon 9200. Later an improved 9500 could be a radeon 9700 or something like that.
Looks like they took a page from nvidia's book. All radeon 9xxx's will be far from equal. Not only in performance, but feature sets and architecture as well. Hey, notice that article says release is tommorrow, can't wait too see out of box performance. |

Looks interesting, the Radeon may have take the top speed crown from the GF4 Ti4600 for a while if performance is as expected.

Good news!
The card should be out just in time for my cpu/mb upgrade when the Clawhammer comes out this fall sometime. |
