Personally I am not sure which cards are actually produced with PCI alternatives. I heard a rumor that the newest ones (GeForce4's atleast) were not made for PCI connections.

I could be wrong though. SOmeone here must know for sure.

Hi Garou,

Your best choice would be a PNY GF4 MX420 card ($100 @ NewEgg), that's the fastest PCI card available.

My GF4 MX440 (AGP) can handle all those games you listed with no problems whatsoever. The MX420 is slightly less capable, and being PCI will make some slight difference too I'm sure, but neither will amount to much of a difference I think. I'd recommend the GF4 MX series to anyone that wants decent performance without spending piles of cash.

Hi Jen, long time, no talk. Too much fun in that new van, maybe?
Anyway, can you list the advantages that card has over the ATI 7500 in re to games and speed?
Thanks

Hehehe, we went on vacation for a week. Just got home last week.

Anyway, I guess after owning a couple of ATI cards, I'm just not impressed. They somehow never seem to live up to their potential. But, in most things, the MX440/460's come out slightly ahead of the 7500. I'm not sure how they compare pricewise. In all honesty, they are proably about even. I'm just personally leaning toward Geforces.

I dont blame ya!
I helped a Guy build his 1st Gaming system using a PNY Gforce2 4200 TI with 64 SDRAM!
I can beleive it beat the 128 ram model....

so any links to where I can obtain the MX440/460 at a reasonable price!

The links are for the GF4 420 PCI, I couldnt find the 440 or the 460.

Heres a link to the only GF4 MX PCI that Newegg carries. Its out of stock right now but it shouldnt be long.
