New card

By the time xmas rolls around I'm going to upgrade my video card. I don't want to spend more than 250 bucks on one (w/o the shipping). Can someone suggest a good 128 meg card that fits that price range? Also, could someone tell me some info on the new supposedly "godlike" ATI card that came/is coming out?

I guess that's the one, is it out yet? If so or if not what's the cost or estimated cost?

The Radeon 9700 is the new card from ATI. It is due out in mid-august so not much of a wait now. Estimated cost is $400. With the release of the 9700, the GF4 Tis will come down in price, so you could pick up a 4200/4400 for a great price.

You could probably get into a GF4 Ti4600 in 4-5 months for around that price!

The Radeon 9500, the 9700's little brother, is supposed to be out by then and it's going to be priced around the $250.00 mark, or so it's said.
It'll support DirectX9 and should be just what you're looking for.
I'm waiting for this card also.
