Red face minimum grpx requirements...

With all the super cards out 2day and comin such as ATI's 9700 or matrox's 3-monitor display... are there games that absolutely REQUIRE such power? I mean... Ive a GE GTS and can run WC3, CS with no problem. My GE2 can run anything @ great framerates. Sure there are sacrifices in some pixel shading there and some antialiasing there, but overall, the picture's good and the framage's good.

What game out today, or coming, will definitly require something more powerful?...

My guess is that Doom 3 will actually make good use of the card and DicrectX9.

uhh - not everybody has the latest and greatest - so why would games be coded for only the rich and powerful (joke?!) of the specs world?

You probably still get good resolutions, but the games often set the detail level for you. For instance WC3 probably isn't all maxed out. It would seem you could wait awhile. Seems like your happy w/performance. When the time does come, you won't need a $400 card b/c most of the power will go unused, because not too many people have these.
