Question Xtasy video cards any good?

Hi All,

I've been using Asus video cards since the GeForce came out. I was thinking about updating from the GF 3 to the VISIONTEK Xtasy GeForce4 Ti4600 128MB DDR. 4X, AGP. 300MHz GPU. TV In/Out. DVI. Retail.

Best Buy is selling them for $31 less than newegg.com! And, at $299, that's also a lot less than the Asus 4600.

But... I've never used that brand. Anyone here use this brand / model vid card? Any pros? Any cons? Any opinions?

Thanks !!

I really wouldnt waste 300 dollars to upgrade.

The ATi 9700 will soon be out and then not long the new Nvidia will with Direct x 9 and that will blow GF4s away.

So If you want to use your money upgrade. But I would at least wait at least one segment of technology to upgrade.

Over all the Xtasy are average there hasnt been serious cases of faulty video with them. So it most likely wont let you down.

I have an Xtasy GeForce3 Ti500 and I really like it. The reviews I've read on the Xtasy series all have pretty good things to say about it - no problems reported. Right now though I don't think there's any software out there that would use all the resources of a GF4 ti 4600 - so I would wait also...

I got a better idea. Buy the 9700 and then send me the 9700. Im sure your 4400 will work fine.

Wouldn't be so quick to buy a VisionTek card, sadly. Seems they are in a bit of financial trouble and foreclosureseem s close.

Also according that that article Radeon 9700 will begin shipping very soon, meaning tomorro, or today depending on where you live...
