Problems with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 Pro
First of all, what a fantastic simulation. WOW!
I've got a problem though. Nearly all the time when I switch to spotter view, it runs for a little while..then CRASH! my machine just hangs. Does anybody know if there is a bug with this sim or could it simply be my PC?

Have you checked the M$ site for info and/or patches regarding this?
Do all your 3D games crash or just this one?

Nuke, only that one crashes as far as I know.
I'll check the Microsoft site for patches. |

I have the exact same problem. My problem was a conflict issue with my Turtle Beach-Santa Cruz audio card. Neither company accepts responsibility so no patch exisits, yet.
I see you have a Crystal Media sound card (Same sound chipset the TBSC uses). Try setting your sound properties to "low" and disable all sound hardware acceleration (Direct sound, Direct 3d etc.) My game is now playable, but the sound is sometimes "scratchy". Happy flying! |

The C-Media sound card on my machine is not on the mobo, it's a PCI card. Strangely though, I think I may have the problem solved - too early to say yet. I eventually managed to set up my Saitek Cyborg (a nightmare finding the gameport driver of my C-Media sound card) on my WindowsXP partition so now I've been playing the simulation under XP. As of yet, my machine has not crashed.
