Actually, it might be better than the original version. Depending on what type of RAM is on there, BGA or TSOP, you can easily oveclock it way beyond the specs of an original Radeon 8500. Let me explain...

The Radeon 8500 uses TSOP memory, which are large, rectangular chips on the card. They are more expensive to manufacture, make more heat, and do not overclock well. The built by ATI Radeon 8500 LE uses BGA memory, which are small, squarish chips on the card. These are cheaper to produce, make less heat, and overclock much better. Now since you don't have the ATI version, you may or may not have BGA memory. Look at the card, if the chips on it are square, then you can overclock it up to 250/250 MHz (core/memory), which is standard for ATI Radeon 8500s. Hope I didn't confuse you TOO much.

I didn't mean up too... I meant from 250/250. The Radeon 8500 LE retail is clocked at 250/250, while the Radeon 8500 retail is at 275/275. There are OEM Radeon 8500s at 275/275, but some are lower. Most OEM Radeon 8500 LEs are at 250/250.
