The computer just beeps at me?
Can anyone tell me whats my comp trying to tell me?
When I switch on it just bleeps at me ie one long 3sec bleep 3sec pause 3sec bleep 3sec pause ete etc. It has a socket7 m/b with a pentium 75/50 cpu all other stuff normal ie sound card vidio card cd rom etc I have removed everything from the m/b except vidio card,but still bleeps at me then removed vidio card and it still bleeps at me It has an award bias chip on the m/b.I cannot find out what a single long bleep means. Also can anyone help me to identify the m/b there doesnot seem to have a name anywhere? regards kenaaba |

Try reseating cpu/video/ram and have just these components installed and try to power up. Lemme know what you can come up with. HTH

its got to be yor ram or video card..
just remove your ram and pop it again... do the same with the video card.

It's probably the RAM. Just pop it out and put it back in again. If that doesn't work, try blowing out the dust out of the slots and off the RAM. You might also want to just clean everything off if you haven't already. I had the same problem with an old HP Vectra I worked on.

What BIOS do you have? Award? Phoenix? AMI?
