If XP is like 2K - control panel, system, advanced, performance options, virtual memory. You only need one paging file, put it on whatever drive letter you prefer. Defrag before and after changing it so it stays contiguous. I have 512 megs ram and have a fixed 768 meg pagefile, same min and max.

CPU 4112
Mem 3177
HD 1152

AMD XP1600
Geforce 3 Ti200
Ibm Deskstar 40 ATA 100

What determines the HD speed? There are people on MadOnion with HD scores of over 5000- how can that be? My mem and CPU scores are similar to others with a similar setup- but my HD score is lower.

v1r4L fr3nzy, Is the HDD on the IDE cable by its self or do you have another HDD or cdrom connected to it? And did you defrag before running PCmark?

I think most WD 80GB SE are scoring above 1000. I know mine did.

Can someone please explain this to me:
Mobo: Ga- 6oxet Intel 815ep
CPU: P3 1.26 Tualatin
Video: Winfast GFS2 Titanium TH
HDD: IBM 40 gig ATA100 7200
Ram: 384 meg PC133 CL3
System: Dualboot ME & XP (exactly the same software on both O/S)
ME: (fat32) XP: (ntfs)
CPU 3914 CPU 3967
MEM 2374 MEM 2240
HDD 1020 HDD 446
Why is the Hard drive benchmark on XP less that 50% of that of ME ? I have noticed this on the 3 other XP systems I have build. Is it because of the file system ? or is there another reason?
