Radeon 7000 good/bad?
I've been looking at upgrading to the ATI Radeon 7000 for its TV out and DVD hardware decoding capability. I dont play games so I dont need a superdupa latest card. Is this a good card for watching DVD on the TV? is the quality good?

I've been using it in a PIII 1GHz system for nearly a year with no problems... Graphics are nice! We haven't hooked it up to the TV, so I can't say yeah or neah on that but my boys watch DVDs on the computer all the time with no troubles. Nice card and cheap too!  HTH |

What are you upgrading from? If you're not a gamer, that video card will work out fine. ATI video cards provide very good image quality.  Cricket

Im upgrading from an ASUS SIS 305. So it should be a big step up.

Is there a big difference between the DDR and SDRAM versions?

DDR memory will run faster than sdram. So I would imagine it would perform a little better in games with DDR memory instead of sdram. HTH
