Halo, and uhm Halo!!! Great FPS but i don't know if he's mature enough. No extra gore or nothing. Could be old enough, it's borderline and I don't know him. Any starcraft type clones would best be played on a PC. I remember playing red alert1 on my pentium 100 and enjoying more than the playstation 1 version. Just can't beat a mouse for that.

I haven't heard of many Strategy games on the Xbox. That's just me though.
Keep in mind the Xbox is aimed mostly towards "mature" gamers. I think the Gamecube would have been a better system fora youngin'. Playstation2 kind of falls inbetween the two (but isn't as good as either one if you ask me) Keep researching sites like Gamespot.com or Gamespy.com. They usually have a list of all games available on each system and also the PC. i am sure you will find a quality strategy game for the Xbox. (maybe) |

Hmmm, definitely Halo. Especially if you wanna have some fun and play with him. Project Gotham Racing is fun too. So is Guantlet: Dark Legacy, once again more fun multiplayer though.

i heard something about a starcraft console only version but that might just be for PS2 - anyone know anything more about this? |

It's called Starcraft: Ghost, and it will be available for "multiple console platforms".

Cant stand Halo!
Get em 'Test Drive'. He'll love it!! And who wouldnt like Hitman 2!
Only it looks better on the PC most likely. |

I'd say Halo and perhaps The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind if he likes RPG Strategy games. Tell me what he likes and I could find him something.

Halo alright dude!!! He'll love it, but just be sure the frist time he plays it watch him play it to make sure it isn't too graphic. Cuz when it first came out it was rated "Teen" then people started complaining about the blood and it went up to "Mature" and now for some stupid reason its at "Youth Restricted Viewing." But dont worry I think I speak everyone when I say that it should have stayed at Teen
. for further in depth ratings check out http://www.esrb.com and this site will tell all about Halo and many, many others.I hope all that helped!!
