Onboard video and dvd player
I'm building a computer for someone. If you're curious what is in it you can see it here
http://www.newegg.com/app/WishR.asp?ID=165901 My question is whether the onboard video will really interfere with the dvdrom that will be in his computer. Will he be able to watch dvds? If he is will they at least be decent quality? THanks. Last edited by Liquid Ice; 10-04-2002 at 11:16 PM. |

I've heard that onboard video doesn't cut it for watching DVDs. But I'm not completely sure. I'd like to know if what that guy told me is indeed true.

The 845G integrated graphics should play DVD's just fine - and even be somewhat game capable.
Other unsolicited recommendations if I may: 1. Get a 7200 rpm hard drive. 2. You don't need the IDE cable, the motherboard comes with them. 3. Get a hardware based modem such as the USR 2977. 4. Get a Northwood 512k cache processor, not that Willamette. |
