GeForce 4, any good...?
I found a lot of GeForce 4 cards on Dabs.com, just wondering if they're any good (and why the different makes of card - Asus, Abit, Creative, AOpen) have different prices and what are the differences in the cards?
Would it be a good upgrade for me (Considering I have a TNTII 32MB card at present) Thanks,

Nvidia Makes the Graphics proccessing unit..
AMD makes a CPU.... The different companies makes the motherboard for the GPU basically so there is slight differences...mostly the differences you will find are different Heatsinks and different Memory. You would see a massive inscrease in performance from your current card. Gainward RULES!

yeah, basically what fastfly said. the company (asus, abit) manufactures the card, and depending on the manufacturer the quality of the actual card (ram, heatsink, etc.) is going to differ. however they all use the same chipset developed by nvidia. asus is good, i have one and its awesome!

Try to hold off till you can afford a GF4 Ti4200 - the GF4 MX series is pretty crippled, it's just an updated GF2. I think I would take a GF3 over a GF4 MX.

If you are a serious gammer and want to get the most out of your game then upgrading to a Gforce 4 will be well worth the investment. I would check out as many sites as you can before deciding on where to buy. Some sites to look at www.newegg.com www.googlergear.com www.mwave.com www.tigerdirect.com www.computergeeks.com just a few of the many to look at but the most popular ones.
Happy shopping

I am now looking at the different types of card and will call back if I find anything of interest (so you can point me in the right direction) Thanks again, Jim |

Of course, being that Jim is in the UK his choice of online retailers is quite different.
