Did you download all of the updates for DiabloII ?

Are your video drivers updated?
What version of DirectX are you using?

Go to the official Diablo2 site and get all patches/updates. Make sure they are compatible with your OS, though.

Let us know if it helps at all.

It looks like there is only one that you really should download.
Get the 1.09 patch. There is a version for the original game and one for those who have already installed the "Lord of Destruction" expansion pack. you should check your CD and see if it included that expansion pack since it is a collector's edition.

Here is the link to the patch for the original game (without the expansion pack installed):
http://www.voodoofiles.com/4015

Here is the link to the patch if the expansion pack has already been installed:
http://www.voodoofiles.com/4334

There are other mirrors on that site but these are USA mirrors s it should be a fast download for you. All the other files you saw were for other operating systems like Mac and so on.

One thing you can do is look in the folder with all your game files and find the ReadMe. Open it up and see if it tells you what version of the game you are running. If it says 1.09 then the patch is NOT needed. You will have the latest version already.

I didnt do the patch yet but it does work now, But it does still cut in/out from my reguler desktop 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600 screen .

I guess that is something that the games do oh well it seems to work thanks dilly if it keeps acting up i will try the patch i cant find where you are talking about the version it only says version 1.0.0.5..

I will play the game and see what happens,

Thanks again dilly

You should be able to set the resolution of the game after you start it up. There should be a Main menu in the game that has a "video settings" option, or similar. I highly suggest configuring the games video options, and if your video card can handle it, set the game to 32 bit color.

when you say 1.0.0.5, is that what you see in the ReadMe? Or is that the only patch you can find? The links I gave you are mirrors for version 1.09. If you have 1.0.0.5 you should download the patch and install it. It has a lot of bug fixes. Even if you have no problems off the bat, it might still give a performance boost. If the patch gives you problems then you can just uninstall it.
