New Graphics Card
I am using Windows XP and wish to replace the old Graphics Card in my machine which has a separate DVD decoder with a new card (I believe this does not need a decoder card as the software handles this).
Apart from taking the old cards out and installing the new one do I need to UNINSTALL anything first ? Thank you in advance. Trevor |

If you installed any drivers for the current video card make sure to uninstall them first.

If it's an Nvidia card you might want to check 3dgpu.com. The removal instructions are in the Nvidia detonator tweak guide.
If you're removing an ATI card from XP then the instructions are at rage3d.com. It's in a sticky at the top of the 9500 - 9700 forum (It may well be in others but I haven't looked). Good luck. I almost forgot. You have to remove all the software that you installed with your seperate DVD card. That means using the add/remove program window and then checking your registry. I don't have the address for regcleaner but a search query on this site should turn it up easily and it will save you a lot of grief plus keep you out of the registry if you don't want to mess with that.
