dual monitor
i've had this old monitor lying aroud for a couple of years now, and recently i manadged to aquire a dual monitor video cqrd, a dayton geforce 2 mx400 so i hooked up the old screen to the secondary screen port but when i activate the second monitor under win98SE it flqshes once or twice but does not activate, and when i return to the desktop properties it's still switched of.
yes i am sure the screen is at least vga. i've set it at 256 colours and 640*480 with is the lowest i can go what can i do??? in all honesty i don't need the dual screen but it would look so cool |

It should work at 640x480 256 color no matter how old it is, as long as it's VGA. Just make sure to define it in Windows as a standard VGA monitor so it won't try to run at too high a refresh rate.

i just tried ewer drivers and it didn't work,
intresting maybe: when i go to properties of the desktop and i chose what i think would be settings in english, i get the dual screen with the 2nd screen marked as non active. wheni select the primary screen and press advanced i get a properties where 2 pages where added by nvidia, when i select the secondary monitor and follow the same path those tabīs arnīt there. what could be the reason for this, it might verry well be the way to the sollution for this problem |
