tips on converting JPEG to MPEG
Anyone have advice on turning my still photos into another format like MPEG or avi? The end result will hopefully be a VCD of all my photos to play on DVD.

Is this what you are looking for?
Dazzle OnDVD is easy-to-use software that lets you take your digital pictures and turn them into a slideshow you can record to a CD for playback on your DVD player. Simply select the pictures you want to put into your slideshow (maximum 500 pictures per CD), arrange them on the timeline and record the slideshow to a CD with your CD-Recorder. OnDVD records two copies of your pictures to the CD disc. The first session is a slideshow in the VideoCD (VCD) format which can be played back in a DVD player (or VCD player) connected to your TV. The second session is a backup copy of all your high quality pictures which can be read back from your PC's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. If you put the CD into a DVD Player, the slideshow will automatically play. If you put the CD into your PC, you can automatically look at the archived pictures. www.dazzle.com. |

Hi mountaineer,
What I do is to: Insert the still photo in the time line. Make a clip by telling my editor to make the single frame last x time / frames. Render the "movie," saving it to disk. Compile the VCD and burn it to CD. Play. Of course, because it is a VCD, you'll have to select each separate "movie" to play one at a time, or just make a longer movie with multiple "still" movie and skip forward / backward to find the shot you want. 1.) Select File > New, then Select VideoCD and click New. 2.) Drag images (.jpg) 3.) Rename CD if you wish 4.) Change the Pause for each image by right clicking and selecting Properties. Use shift to select multiple images. 5.) Select File > Write CD. 6.) Click on Write. HTH |
