DirectX Problem Ahhh
Ok I built my computer a week ago (thanks to all of you) and i want to put my gainward card intp enhanced mode. So i installed expertool from cd then i enhance mode it. I click army ops to play and i get this message. I dont bother reading it so i pt safe mode on for gfx. OPpen game and get same message(GetDeviceCaps) is error. So I try to run 3dmark and I get another message. The i go into dxdiag and run 3d test. .. .
Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available) Any ideas on how to fix it? |

Just to be careful, I would install direct x8.1a or 8.1b, if you have pre xp version of windows. Also, you can download the latest driver for your cards. That should get you started.

Well after searching around i found someone online with same problem. In some random forum they asked a question .. .there were no replies but their own and it was such a simple solution. In dxdiag disable 3d accelerator, exit, then go in and enable it and run test and its fine! Now to find out whythe hell I lost 8000 3dmark points.
