I recently upgraded my OS from windows me to windows xp. Two of my favorite games will not boot! They both use a console, it says that there is an eror with OpenGl assuming no 3d device is available. My drivers are upgraded and i cant find anything wrong with my pc. Both games worked fine with ME. I need help!!!!!

what do you mean they both use a console?
What games are they? what's your video card? did you do an upgrade or a fresh install? |

Ok, go to the control panel and go to System. From there, go to the Hardware tab, and then go to the Device Manager. Under Display Adapters it will list your video card. If it is an nVidia based card, you can simply go to www.nvidia.com and go to the Drivers tab. Then get the Detonator 40 drivers for Windows XP/2000.
Be sure to turn off any virus protection or firewalls that you may be running in the backround while downloading and installing the drivers. I know, you never have had to before and everything has been fine, but this time it actually does matter. If it isn't an nVidia card, then it is most likely an ATI card. After you find out what model you have, go to http://mirror.ati.com/support/driver.html and enter in your OS and card model. If for some reason that doesn't work, go here and try those. Follow all of the directions, and be sure to turn off the virus scanning. Please tell us how it goes, or if you need more help. Edit: Ummm, damn. The last two posts were made while I was typing this. In that case go here and download the top thing, Windows XP Display Drivers. If they don't work for some reason, try the ones that I mentioned 2 paragraphs up, starting with "If for some reason that doesn't work..."
